At its Ignite digital conference, Microsoft showed the public preview of Azure Percept. Azure Percept is a platform of hardware and services that simplifies the ways in which customers can use Azure AI technologies on the edge – including taking advantage of Azure. It works out of the box with Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Live Video Analytics, and other Azure services to deliver vision and audio insights in real-time.

The Azure Percept platform includes a development kit with an intelligent camera, Azure Percept Vision. It can be extended to include Azure Percept Audio, a voice-enabled system on module (SoM) with a 4-mic linear array to apply custom commands, far-field speech, and anomaly detection. There’s also a “getting started” experience called Azure Percept Studio that guides customers with or without a lot of coding expertise or experience through the entire AI lifecycle, including developing, training and deploying proof-of-concept ideas. Azure Percept Studio integrates Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Edge, Device Update, Device Provisioning Service, Azure AI, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Live Video Analytics, Azure, and other Azure services.
